Trinity

Description

This is another town-country parish to the north of St Helier but urban areas soon give way to farmland at the beginning of the steep hill leading out of the town. Off this main road leading north are some large and distinguished old houses, including Trinity Manor, a 19th-century French-style manor house, whose owner is now raising “Genuine Jersey” veal and beef for the local market.
Trinity’s north coast drops steeply to the sea along wild cliffs, with well-designed footpaths for hikers. Its most famous bay is Bouley Bay, a deep-water mooring for small boats. There is no sand here, not even at low tide, but it is a popular place for underwater diving. It is dominated by one large hotel and its old hill fort has now been restored and is rented out for parties and short-term holiday lets.
Its main attraction is the zoo, first started by author Gerald Durrell and now run by the wildlife conservation trust Durrell. There are large houses with well-stocked large gardens.
