Wilmersdorf

Wilmersdorf is considered one of the more exclusive residential areas in Berlin and has some of the most expensive real estate in the city. It borders Grunewald and Schneberg in western central Berlin and is renowned for its beautiful 19th-century buildings. Being centrally located, on the whole it is not particularly quiet except for a few purely residential areas such as the quarter to the south of the Kurfrstendamm - west Berlins main boulevard but where there are a few restaurants and clubs all the same. The Kurfrstendamm is famous for its exclusive shopping and nightlife. Wilmersdorf West takes you away from the bustling city centre and into the Grunewald forest with its parks and nature reserves. Grunewald is probably the most prestigious district of Berlin. The U1, U7 and U9 underground lines run through Wilmersdorf and the S7 overground runs through Grunewald. Zoo station and Westkreuz are nearby.
