Today Valby is an integrated part of Copenhagen, but until 1901 it was an independent village with a history going back to the tenth century. It is a mix of blocks of flats, one-family houses and industrial and green areas, and it is well connected to the rest of the city by train and bus. Valby is not as lively or chaotic as the centre, but it could be the solution for those who want peace and quiet but also to be near the centre. There is hardly any nightlife but it is possible to do various sporting activities during the day.
