Mainly a residential area, it is also the home of the famous Tate Gallery. It is made up of small quiet streets, terrace houses, some modern apartment blocks and a few elegant Georgian squares. There are some good areas for fresh-food shopping and there is a vast array of restaurants for all tastes. The underground stop is on the Victoria line, and the area gravitates around Victoria Station, with its good connections to the south of the country, and London's main bus station.
