Salamanca

This is Madrid's upper-income heartland. Full of elegant apartments, and even more elegant shops, it is close to the Paseo de la Castellana, one of the big avenues that crosses Madrid from north to south, and to Plaza Colon. Here there are many museums, such as the Museo Sorolla, and all kinds of up-market stores. Traffic is not too heavy and parking is slightly easier than in other districts. Well-connected to the underground, it is a good residential option if you are looking for a quiet place to live.
