La Place de la Bastille in the 11th arrondissement is mainly remembered for the historic conquest of the Bastille prison during the French revolution. The tower which once stood at its centre has been replaced by a commemorative column. Every Sunday the largest fruit and vegetable market of Paris comes to life in the square. Night life here and on Rue du Faubourg de S. Antoine consists of clubs such as the Barrio Latino. With its bars, restaurants and night clubs this an ideal place for a night on the town. There is plenty of parking and it is easy to reach by metro. Living here is fun and inexpensive and is idea for students and young people.
