The main attraction of of S. Giovanni is the basilica from which the district takes its name. It is the second largest church in Rome and with the square in front of it, where there are often trades union rallies and pop concerts, it is the fulcrum of the zone's activity. It is also famous for the clothing market on Via Sannio where you can find good bargains if you have the patience. The district is busy, and the numerous roads that intersect here are full of traffic especially in the rush hours. However it is well connected with the rest of the city and S. Giovanni has good restaurants and nightlife.
