Two bookshops in Rome and Milan are among the 20 most beautiful bookshops in the world according to the US cultural website flavorwire.com.
Second top of the list is Rome’s Bookàbar in Palazzo delle Esposizioni on Via Nazionale, designed by Teheran-born Firouz Galdo. It stocks mainly books on art, architecture and design but there are some books in English, as well as children’s books, DVDs and CDs.
In Milan Corso Como Bookshop, Corso Como 10, is ranked at 15 on the list. It also has branches in Seoul and Tokyo. It includes a café, a restaurant, an exhibition and fashion area and a three-bedroom hotel. It is a beautiful space but its website is not book-buyer friendly.
