11 November 2011. This monthly festival showcases the best live music from Tanzania and abroad. On stage will be some of the finest local and international talent passing through Tanzania.
Among the participating artists will be Ottu Jazz with Msondo Ngoma, one of the oldest bands in Tanzania, who will perform their Rumba music. This band was originally formed under the Tanzanian workers union just after independence. This band includes some of Tanzania’s most representative musical legends such as the guitarist guitarist Saidi Mabera and the singer Muhidin Mwalim.
On stage will be also Mzungu Kichaa with his Tanzanian bongo beat band, which has recently completed a tour around Denmark.
Last but not least one of Dar es Salaam’s top bassists and Afro Jazz composers, Bakuza, will direct his trio Sokomokojadi in their jazz and afrofusion concert. This band fuses traditional and contemporary Tanzanian rhythms with jazz. The trio comprises of Bass, Keys and Percusion, creating an intimate delivery of original compositions.
